Westfield Broward is a shopping mall located in Florida and has been open since 1978. When the mall first opened, there was a Burdines store, a department store with several anchors to include Regal Cinemas, JC Penney, Macy’s, and Dillard’s. The mall has thrived over the years and has over sixty-six stores including department stores, toys, health and beauty, sports stores, tech store, and more. Some stores located in the mall include AT&T, Claire’s, Hollister, Pandora, Starbucks Coffee, Yankee Candle, and more. When many individuals go to the mall for a shopping spree, hungriness tends to kick in, and lucky enough, there are many popular restaurants within the mall. Some restaurants include Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Chick-Fil-A. There are many more places to dine including walk-up and sit-down service.
Westfield Broward has recently been in the news promoting volunteers to work in the community to assist during the pandemic. Volunteers have assisted with handing out school supplies to school-aged children, removing debris off the side of the road, and setting up donation sites in the mall when it was closed during the pandemic. The mall has also assisted in creating over seventy give charities to help the vulnerable during the pandemic as well as activating dozens of COVID-19 testing sites and blood drives. The mission of the mall is to help bring the community closer and reduce the economic hardship from closed businesses and schools. With the community working together, it can bring individuals together to recover from the pandemic.
